The United Nations Human Rights office is calling for an investigation into the death of former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.  "We believe there is a need for an investigation," said Rupert Colville, a spokesman for the UN high commissioner for human rights. "More details are needed to ascertain whether he was killed in some form of fighting or was executed after his capture."Accounts of the death, which happened Thursday in Sirte , are varied.

Libya's interim prime minister, Mahmoud Jibril, said Gadhafi was killed in crossfire between Gadhafi loyalists and revolutionaries. Another official said Gadhafi died of stomach wounds on his way to hospital. It has also been said he died trying to flee revolutionary fighters, or that he was executed at close range.

Should there be an investigation into Gadhafi's death? Many members of the CBC Community have said such an investigation would be a waste of time and money. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below and by voting on the new poll.
